Relationship between Quiet Eye duration And Performance: Study of Duration And Location of Gaze Quiet eye is considered as a special gaze to a location of Motor space that is an indicator of motor control. The Aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between quiet eye durations and location of gaze fixation with performance. The research sample included 60 right-handed boys (19-22 yr). The Snellen chart was used to assess vision. Task was a golf putting and the visual information was recorded through eye track glasses and motor information via a Video camera (SONY). The results of the Pearson correlation coefficient test showed the relationship between quiet eye and performance. Also, the correlation between the location of gaze fixation with quiet eye and performance was determined by Eta correlation coefficient. The results of ANOVA test showed that there was a significant difference between location of gaze fixation in quiet eye and performance variables. In other words, the duration and location of the fixation affect the motor performance. The components of vision can have an effective role in motor control. The quiet eye is a perceptual skill associated with expertise and superior performance. The benefit of the phenomenon has been demonstrated in a range of sporting tasks. The mechanism(s) underpinning this phenomenon are much-debated and are associated with varying assumptions.

The aim of the present study was to examine the effect of physical fatigue on special skill of basketball shooting in expert players. 10 male basketball players (mean age 24.9 years and average sport experience 10.5 years) voluntarily participated in this study. In the pretest, players performed 150 shoots from 5 distances: 3.35, 3.96, 4.57, 5.18 & 5.79 meters from the basket (each location 30 shoots). In the posttest, RAST test was used to create fatigue. Players completely performed RAST once before performance in any distance, and then immediately performed their 30 shoots. The results of linear regression and one-sample t test showed a significant difference between actual and predicted performances of players at the penalty point in both pretest and posttest supporting the special skill effect.Results of dependent t test also revealed a significant difference in performance of players between in penalty point and the farthest point in pretest and posttest. Finings of this study suggested that players showed special skill in the penalty point and physical fatigue had no significant effect on the performance of players and did not reduce the quality of their performance at that point.

The aim of the present study was to investigate the manipulation of senses and speed on the performance of bimanual dynamic coordination. Thus, 15 physical education students of Shahid Beheshti University with age range of 18-25 years performed in-phase and anti-phase patterns from slow to fast speed in five different sensory conditions. To investigate two motor patterns ANOVA with repeated measures (5 sensory conditions × 3 speeds) on each in-phase and anti-phase pattern. Bonferroni post hoc test was used to analyze their following effects. The dependent variable was error of relative phase. Results showed that increasing the speed of performance influenced the performance of the anti-phase pattern (P=0.001), but it did not influence the in-phase pattern (P=0.9). Sensory manipulation results indicated that proprioception and vision manipulation had an effect on the accuracy and the variability of performance of two relative phases of motor patterns (P=0.001), but audition manipulation did not affect these patterns (P=0.315). In addition, the highest mean of error of relative phase and standard deviation of error of relative phase were observed in proprioception manipulation (P=0.001). It can be expressed that the bimanual linear coordination task in this study was a proprioceptive dependent task.
